A view of the sunrise on Lake Superior from Larsmont Cabins in Northern Minnesota, near Duluth. March 27, 2014.
This week is spring break, so I went home to visit my family in Minnesota with Jacob in tow. My mom booked a cabin at the Larsmont Cottages near Duluth, Minnesota for a northern adventure, so on Wednesday we trekked even farther north. We had a wonderful couple of days shopping in Duluth, exploring Gooseberry Falls, and watching some really interesting ice phenomena on Lake Superior.
The ice was cracking and creating a “log jam” effect on Lake Superior. I could hear the sound of cracking ice as it got pushed along with the current. March 25, 2014.
Gooseberry Falls is completely frozen over thanks to the “polar vortex” that has been hovering over Minnesota all winter. March 26, 2014.
